RESOURCE MOBILIZATION
The Resource Mobilization Unit is responsible for resource mobilization initiatives at the University. The Unit engages the Government, Development Partners (DPs) and Private Sector Entities in order to ensure availability and sustainability of financial and non-financial resources for the University in line with the UDSM Vision 2061. Specifically, the Resource Mobilization Unit is responsible for undertaking the following functions:
- Implementation of the UDSM Resource Mobilization Strategy;
- Preparation of proposals for effectively mobilizing funds and other resources for the University;
- Participation in the partnership discussions with local actors, private sector, government units and development partners to leverage on the University funding opportunities;
- Conducting environmental scanning with overall objectives of identifying opportunities on resource mobilization;
- Provision of innovative resource mobilization strategies against the reliance to the tuition fees, Government and development partners;
- Developing innovative financing products for diversifying University’s portfolio;
- Training and sensitizing all University staff on resource mobilization; and
- Participation in publicity events, discussions, meetings and dialogue with various stakeholders in mobilizing resources for the University.
The Unit is led by a Resource Mobilization Manager who report directly to the Director of Planning, Development and Investment.
