Booking
For group visits, we encourage bookings to be made at least 7 days before the actual date so as to allow for the Museum staff to make necessary arrangements.Group size
We accept small groups of up to ten people for a guided tour. If you come with larger groups, they will be required to enter the museum in smaller groups of ten people at a timed interval. We recommend this number of people to avoid overcrowding in our small gallery spaces.
Best days for group visits are weekends and public holidays however, arrangements for weekday visits can be made where necessary.

Please contact the Museum for group visits and bookings before making your way to the University of Dar es Salaam. The University Museum is located along Changanyikeni road at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Mlimani campus. It is nestled behind the famous University library. The museum entrance uses the main entrance into the Heritage building. There is disability access into the building. Parking space is provided however due to the limited space available, museum visitors are required to pay a token amount to cover the space for the duration they are in the museum.Visit duration

Please note that consuming food or drink in the museum galleries and gardens is not permitted. The university is in the process of preparing a sitting area outside the museum. This area can be used for refreshments for museum visitors. There are a number of eateries within range of the museum on campus and off-campus. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult inside the museum. The museum reserves the right to refuse entry to any unaccompanied child under the age of 12.Commercial activities
No commercial acidity is allowed in the museum except as part of the museum’s authorised events.
